I checked into Quality Inn in Des Moines and found the check-in process to be smooth and the front desk staff friendly. The room itself was spacious, which I appreciated. The bed was comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. Shower pressure was decent, which is a big plus for me. However, I encountered several issues during my stay. The hotel was in a somewhat sketchy area, and I noticed some odd activities near the hotel, which made me uneasy. The noise from the interstate was disruptive at night, making it hard to sleep. Additionally, I experienced low water pressure in the shower, which was disappointing. Despite these issues, I found the cleanliness of the room to be acceptable. Overall, the place needs some upgrades and better soundproofing.

We had a pleasant stay, especially since the hotel was conveniently located near fun activities and parks for the kids. It was nice to have clean sleeping areas, and our family enjoyed our time relaxing together during our visit.

In my wife’s opinion, the room needed better cleaning. Having a dirty bathtub and other maintenance issues didn't sit well with us. It would be great if they improved the cleaning procedures, especially for families with children.

We had a long drive with kids and pets and were ready for some rest. The lady at the front desk was super nice, even when we faced some a/c issues in our first room. The second room was kinda musty, but we rolled with it. The pool was fun for the kids, even if it seemed a bit off. Just wish they’d sorted out the pet fees better.

I had a great time strolling through Margo Frankel Woods State Park just over 3 km away and browsing through the unique finds at Brass Armadillo Antique Mall, which is only a short walk of just over 1 km from the hotel.

I enjoyed the warm and welcoming atmosphere, with clean hallways and beautifully decorated common areas that felt safe and accessible, making it easy for me to navigate around as a senior traveler.

Access to the hotel is confusing, as you have to navigate a frontage road behind another building. definitely not for the faint of heart. Some public areas had a strong garlic smell, which was a bit off-putting. Additionally, the breakfast eggs were excessively salty, and the towels in the room felt thin and cheap, lacking in comfort. There were also issues with the bedspread, which had visible white spots, giving it a neglected appearance.
